The mountains, hills, and forests surrounding the town of San Martín de los Andes offer countless opportunities for cycling.
Semi-technical trails through the woods, old disused logging roads, and stunning valleys are part of this special program designed for mountain bike enthusiasts.
Unlike other places in Patagonia, the surroundings of San Martín de los Andes are shared between Lanín National Park and the Mapuche Community, which keeps them with open access and almost no inhabitants, making them ideal for mountain biking.

the highlights

-Ride through forests on incredible trails
-Discover lakes that can only be reached by mountain bike
-Explore mountain roads with breathtaking views Enjoy over 20 minutes of continuous downhill riding on trails

trip summary

Day Before: Coordination meeting with the guide.

Day 1 - To start our adventure, we recommend a scenic ride to Lake Escondido. We'll follow winding mountain roads and trails, arriving at the peaceful Lake Escondido, located just south of Lake Lácar.

Day 2 - After a good night's rest and breakfast, we’ll begin our ride heading north from San Martín de los Andes. The route will first take us along trails near Laguna Rosales, then continue to the base of Cerro Colorado, and finally return to town through scenic Mapuche lands.

Day 3 - A ride through the transitional zone between forest and steppe — a high-altitude circuit with stunning views of Lanín Volcano and incredible Araucaria forests.
On our bikes, we'll visit a local community school and pass close to several homes and residents, giving us insight into their way of life and connection to the environment.
Throughout the day, we'll ride up and down small valleys and across high plateaus. By late afternoon, we'll tackle the final big ascent along little-used trails, where in some sections, the path almost disappears due to how rarely it's traveled.

HOW WE WORK

During the tour, the support vehicle with the trailer accompanies you at all times.
You don’t need to carry anything yourself; everything will be available whenever you need it.
The guides prepare delicious lunches, respecting your diet, with simple-to-digest and varied food throughout the tour. You’re going to really enjoy it.
At the end of the day, the guides will clean and fix any issues so that your bike is ready to enjoy the next day.
We prepare for everything to go smoothly, but if an accident occurs, our guides are certified in first aid, and we follow an Emergency Response Protocol involving the entire company to quickly and effectively resolve any situation.
